As we delve into the world of extending our programs, we have had to thoroughly investigate the large variety of Social Networks that are out there on the web, and identify which ones are the most likely to fit our needs and the needs of our participants. What we found is the following:
|
Check out our Kigluait Facebook Page, where you can become a Fan, Keep Track of our Events, and participate in our Discussion Boards. |

Check out our Kigluait Ning Page, where you can become a member and participate in the many groups coinciding to programs you participate in. Safely share your VTC images and movies, and be sure to post how you are using our content in the discussion boards. Check out more about the Flash Kennels Ning below. |

This micro-blogging feature provides small updates of what we are doing at Kigluait and what resources we are using. |
We have also begun a Ning page for Flash Kennels. But what is Flash Kennels?
In short, it is the dog side of things here at Kigluait Educational Adventures.
Years ago, Rich was very lucky to become a close friend, and most grateful student, of Joe Garnie. Joe is a legend in mushing circles and introduced me to the lifestyle of mushing. Beyond a wealth of knowledge and a foundation to begin my own learning, Joe gave to me three dogs, Mugs, Eskimo, and Gordon. The bloodlines of these three animals run through every dog in my kennel. And they were all great dogs, BUT Gordon was special and we really clicked! Joe actually named him for a childhood friend, but he reminded me of Flash Gordon- Savior of the Universe! Thus Flash Kennels was born!
When Christina discovered videoconferencing, and the power it has to introduce students to a world of experiences they would otherwise never have, it was a natural path to start sharing about sled dogs using this great tool. And that's how Flash Kennels became a key component in what Kigluait Educational Adventures is, and does.
But it's important to remember that Flash Kennels is a real, living, breathing, working dog kennel, with goals and ambitions that are in many ways independent of Kigluait's. In my mind, that's what makes our mushing videoconferences so great!
