Denali Sustina Exploration camp seeks to provide youth healthy, positive, safe experiences in which they can explore their role in the environment throug the lenses of observational, scientific, and cultural/ historical perspectives there-by fostering increased awareness of and sterwardship for their landsacpe.

 Our Mission

Denali-Susitna Exploration Camp centers on place-based, technology-infused learning that fosters an integrated view of the natural world and helps participants gain nature and technology skills. Each year the camp focuses on participants creating a project that shares their newly learned knowledge with the community.
Denali-Susitna Exploration Camp seeks to be a summer highlight for local partticipants and community partners. Ultimately the camp will include youth participants in kindergarten through eighth grades, with participants in the ninth through twelfth grades serving as junior councelors.
Shared Vision
Denali-Susinta Epxloration Camp was conceived and functions as a community based and supported partnership.
The camp works towards having strong community participation to run and maintain the camp, including finding creative ways to increase self-sustainability for support and funding. As a means to that end, the camp seeks to build youth leadership so that high school-aged participants serve as counselors and mentors for younger participants. The camp seeks further connections with the commmunity by facilitaing outreach experiences using the camp curricula with groups such as public schools, home-schooling networks and other youth organizations such as, Boy Scouts/ Girl Scouts.
